We did it!

Wow, how cool was that? I mean, we're down 3-1 in the third, but we never gave up, never stopped battling and now we're world junior champs. We got a lucky break on the winner, but that was great work by Pat O'Sullivan, he made that play happen and deserves all the credit.

It really hasn't sunk in yet that we won, but we're real proud to be the first U.S. team to win this event. That means a lot to us, something we'll always be able to look back on and tell our kids and their kids about.

It was so amazing to be a part of this team, to hear the national anthem played all the way over here in Finland. They raised the flag up and played the song, it's hard to describe that feeling. I know I wasn't even born when the Miracle on Ice happened, but maybe this is how they felt. Not that it's on the same level, but to represent the U.S. and beat our big rivals, like they did back then, it's such a great feeling.

I have to make sure to mention my teammates, because we all worked so hard to get to this point, and they deserve all the credit in the world. We have a great coaching staff, too, they kept things positive when it didn't look too good today. We didn't get down, and now look where we are!

Thanks for all of your support, it really means a lot. We're a long way from home, and we can't wait to get back and show off our medals :) Talk to you all soon.

We're going for the gold

Hey everyone, got some great news for those of you who weren't able to check out today's semi against Finland. It was our toughest game of the tournament so far, but we won 2-1 to advance to the final against Canada. I'm glad I was able to contribute with an assist on Stevie Werner's shortie, that was big for us to get the first goal. It gave us a lot of confidence. It was a pretty physical game, but our guys stayed tough and played well, and now we're right where we wanted to be.

I have to say I'm pretty excited about this game against Canada. I've been looking forward to this since we lost to them in the semifinal last year. They've been playing good hockey in the tourney, but we'll be ready to go. We really want to bring home the gold. We've worked so hard to get this far and don't want to settle for second place. Hope you all can tune in and check it out. I know it'll be a morning game Monday back home, so all of you should skip work or school and watch :) Just kidding, tape it and watch it later. Don't want to get anyone in trouble :) It should be a great game, though. All the guys are eager to get back on the ice and play. Thanks for all the support and we'll do our best to make you proud :)

It's a beautiful day.....

Don't let it slip away...

Another great day at worlds. I got a short-handed goal and a power-play goal and an assist. It's a lot of fun out there.

I got a call from the Devils GM after I said the other day that my fourth goal of the tourney really belonged to my teammate Brady Murray... which it did.

He said I reacted in exactly the Devils manner. It was just what came natural, I guess if that is in the Devils manner it's gonna be an easy task to be on that team.

We have a day off before the semis start. I'm ready to go already...

We are the worlds!!!!

Things have been going quite well for us as worlds. And for me personally. It's very gratifying to do so well in my debut. The hat trick the first game was awesome, but I think just as much fun for me was getting the assist on the shorthanded goal that put us past Sweden today.

I better get to sleep, we have a game against Russia tomorrow!
